Sparky Shooting Star follows the Sacred Pipe and is a Sun Dancer of Cherokee and Irish descent. Since 1984 she has studied indigenous traditions with elders and teachers such as Mary Elizabeth Thunder, Rolling Thunder and Tsultrim Allione. Sparky teaches about indigenous traditions in schools and universities. She also gives Spiritual Direction to people and families in private practice. In 1989 she helped Thunder found Thunder Ranch and continues to serve on its Board of Directors.
