Barbara Meister Vitale

is of Irish Druid descent. Trained by her Irish grandmother, she began her shamanic journey early. Unable to read until she was twelve, Barbara was labelled "dumb." Today she is the author of two best selling books on holistic education. She has shared the idea of education as a circle on many reservations. She was adopted by the Hunkpapa Lakota people in recognition of this work. Given the name 'Wichahpi to wi', "Blue Star Woman", she has chosen to walk the Red Road as a bridge of healing among all relations. Ms. Vitale is a Peace Elder and was invited to be a member of the Wolf Song Conference peace council for the past 6 years.
